My daughter can actually ice skate, I couldn’t believe it, the fact is that since she knew her birthday party was to be at the rink she has been going nearly every day for two weeks doesn’t come into it, she glided, she was brilliant, she’s my baby..........

I was driven to and from my daughter’s home as both my ex brother in-laws and wives had flown in en-mass from Poland for the event so were hiring more cars than were actually needed, also the family kids contributed 5 of the skaters to the ice with a further 5 tots watching and screaming with excitement from the side lines – she had 11 friends from school too ... only my ex wife could organise this type of chaos. It turned out wonderful.

We did have casualties thou, a couple of twisted ankles and a banged head were among the worse but with the help of some great mums and magical cuddles the troops pulled through.

When the hot, sweaty and sticky brigade were done we all headed back home to a bar-b-que feast and a b’day cake the size of a baby hippo with the top in white icing depicting ‘The Simpsons on ice’.

I had my first beer for ages ... it was really a shandy but it was still welcomed, I couldn’t remember the last time I felt this good, it was needed as I haven’t been exactly on form of late with the events that have been in my life, but that’s not for this entry.

The boys took me home but not before finding a bar along the coast over looking the sea. We had a great evening, a truly great day was had.

I play a game sometimes ...

I go to TheeLadyHawk's page and on it she has a great playlist (a dozen or so songs) and they are set to auto-play when you get there...

most of the songs are very familiar to me as we both share that sort of musical taste...

anyway...

whatever the song is about is treated as a lesson in life .... my life.

I spoke to my daughter on the phone today. She was ten last week but her party is this weekend .... it's ice-skating with 15 other kids.



I then went over some homework tips with her when out the blue she tells me she is trying so hard to make us (my ex and I) happy.

I simply said...

''they say if you aim for the moon and miss at least you'll be out among the stars ....

I have confidence that you will shine.''



I'm not sure where I heard it but we spent a further 45 mins talking about space travel .. lol

I love her to bits.

I have a great bunch of friends ... they found me a car that will suit it's purpose for now.

More to come, as until it's sitting outside my front door I remain pensive.
